About Tikaree Gram Panchayat

Tikaree (टिकरी) is a Gram Panchayat (village council) in Bakshi-ka-talab block of Lucknow district, Uttar Pradesh. Land and revenue work goes through Bakshi Ka Talab tehsil, and the district is part of the Lucknow Division. Its Local Government Directory (LGD) code is 265774.

It has just one revenue village, Tikaari, so every adult voter of Tikaari is a member of the Gram Sabha.

Tikaree is one of the 103 gram panchayats in Bakshi-ka-talab block. The whole of Lucknow district has 570. Voters here elect their MLA from the Bakshi Kaa Talab assembly constituency and their MP from the Mohanlalganj Lok Sabha constituency.

The Gram Pradhan and the panchayat secretary are your first contacts for the family register, birth and death records and MGNREGA (now VB-G RAM G) job cards. Income, caste and residence certificates come from Bakshi Ka Talab tehsil; the steps are in the citizen services section below.

Lucknow district’s One District One Product (ODOP) is Chikankari and zari-zardozi. If you work in this trade in Tikaree, you can apply at the District Industries Centre for ODOP margin-money loans, training and toolkits.

As in most of rural Uttar Pradesh, people around Tikaree live mainly off farming (wheat, mustard and pulses in the Rabi season, paddy, maize or sugarcane in the Kharif season, depending on the area), along with dairy and job guarantee wage work. Since July 2026 that’s VB-G RAM G, which replaced MGNREGA: a household with a job card from the gram panchayat can get at least 125 days of paid work a year. Farmers can sign up for PM-KISAN and a Kisan Credit Card through the block agriculture office or a Common Service Centre.

Administration

Tikaree Gram Panchayat is run by an elected Gram Pradhan (village head), an Up-Pradhan and ward members. Every adult voter in the panchayat’s villages is a member of the Gram Sabha. The Panchayat Secretary (Gram Panchayat Adhikari), posted by Bakshi-ka-talab block, keeps the day-to-day records and registers births and deaths.

Every gram panchayat in Uttar Pradesh has to form 6 committees: Planning and Development Committee (chaired by the Pradhan), Education Committee, Construction Works Committee, Health and Welfare Committee, Administrative Committee and Water Management Committee. The Gram Sabha has to meet at least twice a year (after the Kharif and Rabi harvests). It goes over the accounts and approves the Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP), which is then uploaded on eGramSwaraj. Any voter of the village can attend and ask questions.

The Ministry of Panchayati Raj's Panchayat Advancement Index (PAI 2.0) gives every gram panchayat a score from 0 to 100 on nine themes of the Localised Sustainable Development Goals. It uses about 150 indicators that panchayats report and block and district officials check.

In the Panchayat Advancement Index 2023-24, Tikaree scored 52.8 out of 100, ranking 93rd of 94 panchayats in Bakshi-ka-talab block (slightly behind the block average of 61.3). 2023-24ReportedPanchayat Advancement Index (PAI 2.0)

That puts it in the "Aspirant" band (Achiever 90+, Front Runner 75–90, Performer 60–75, Aspirant 40–60, Beginner below 40).
