Since July 2026 that’s VB-G RAM G, which replaced MGNREGA: a household with a job card from the gram panchayat can get at least 125 days of paid work a year. Farmers can sign up for PM-KISAN and a Kisan Credit Card through the block agriculture office or a Common Service Centre.
Administration
Koirigawan Gram Panchayat is run by an elected Mukhiya (village head), an Up-Mukhiya and ward members. Every adult voter in the panchayat’s villages is a member of the Gram Sabha. The Panchayat Secretary, posted by Barharia block, keeps the day-to-day records and registers births and deaths.
Every gram panchayat in Bihar has to form 6 committees: Planning, Co-ordination and Finance Committee (chaired by the Mukhiya), Production Committee, Social Justice Committee, Education Committee, Public Health, Family Welfare and Rural Sanitation Committee and Public Works Committee. The Gram Sabha has to meet at least once every three months. It goes over the accounts and approves the Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP), which is then uploaded on eGramSwaraj. Any voter of the village can attend and ask questions.
