About Rampur Gram Panchayat

Rampur (रामपुर) is a Gram Panchayat (village council) in Kotkasim block of Khairthal-Tijara district, Rajasthan. Land and revenue work goes through Kotkasim tehsil, and the district is part of the Jaipur Division. Its Local Government Directory (LGD) code is 9013652.

It has just one revenue village, Rampur, so every adult voter of Rampur is a member of the Gram Sabha.

From Khairthal-Tijara headquarters, Rampur is about 27 km away to the north (straight-line distance). It’s about 10 km north-west of the middle of Kotkasim block. For trains, the closest station is Bawal (about 9.0 km).

Rampur is one of the 32 gram panchayats in Kotkasim block. The whole of Khairthal-Tijara district has 180. Voters here elect their MLA from the Kishangarh Bas assembly constituency and their MP from the Alwar Lok Sabha constituency.

The Sarpanch and the panchayat secretary are your first contacts for the family register, birth and death records and MGNREGA (now VB-G RAM G) job cards. Income, caste and residence certificates come from Kotkasim tehsil; the steps are in the citizen services section below.

Work and livelihood

As in most of rural Rajasthan, people around Rampur live mainly off farming (wheat, mustard, gram and barley in the Rabi season, bajra, guar, moong, moth or groundnut in the Kharif season, depending on the area), along with dairy and job guarantee wage work. Since July 2026 that’s VB-G RAM G, which replaced MGNREGA: a household with a job card from the gram panchayat can get at least 125 days of paid work a year. Farmers can sign up for PM-KISAN and a Kisan Credit Card through the block agriculture office or a Common Service Centre.

Administration

Rampur Gram Panchayat is run by an elected Sarpanch (village head), an Up-Sarpanch and ward members. Every adult voter in the panchayat’s villages is a member of the Gram Sabha. The Gram Vikas Adhikari (VDO), posted by Kotkasim block, keeps the day-to-day records and registers births and deaths.

Every gram panchayat in Rajasthan has to form 5 committees: Administration and Establishment Committee (chaired by the Sarpanch), Finance and Taxation Committee, Development and Production Programmes Committee (farming, animal husbandry, minor irrigation and allied work), Education Committee and Social Services and Social Justice Committee (water supply, health, sanitation). The Gram Sabha has to meet at least twice a year, once in the first and once in the last quarter of the financial year. It goes over the accounts and approves the Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP), which is then uploaded on eGramSwaraj. Any voter of the village can attend and ask questions.
