Most families in and around Garoli mix small-scale farming with livestock, local trade and seasonal wage work. Since July 2026, VB-G RAM G (which replaced MGNREGA) guarantees each household at least 125 days of work a year on village works such as ponds, roads and plantations. The gram panchayat issues the job cards, and wages go straight into bank or post office accounts.

Administration

Under the Rajasthan Panchayati Raj Act, 1994, Garoli is run by its elected Sarpanch, the Up-Sarpanch and the ward members. The Gram Sabha, made up of all adult voters, approves the yearly plan and the list of scheme beneficiaries. The Gram Vikas Adhikari (VDO) sent by the Deoli block office keeps the family register, the accounts and the birth and death register.

Every gram panchayat in Rajasthan has to form 5 committees: Administration and Establishment Committee (chaired by the Sarpanch), Finance and Taxation Committee, Development and Production Programmes Committee (farming, animal husbandry, minor irrigation and allied work), Education Committee and Social Services and Social Justice Committee (water supply, health, sanitation). The Gram Sabha has to meet at least twice a year, once in the first and once in the last quarter of the financial year. It goes over the accounts and approves the Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP), which is then uploaded on eGramSwaraj. Any voter of the village can attend and ask questions.

How Garoli scores on the Panchayat Advancement Index

The Ministry of Panchayati Raj's Panchayat Advancement Index (PAI 2.0) gives every gram panchayat a score from 0 to 100 on nine themes of the Localised Sustainable Development Goals. It uses about 150 indicators that panchayats report and block and district officials check.

PAI score
60.2/1002023-24ReportedPanchayat Advancement Index (PAI 2.0)

In the Panchayat Advancement Index 2023-24, Garoli scored 60.2 out of 100, ranking 17th of 37 panchayats in Deoli panchayat samiti (about the same as the block average of 59.8). 2023-24ReportedPanchayat Advancement Index (PAI 2.0)

That puts it in the "Performer" band (Achiever 90+, Front Runner 75–90, Performer 60–75, Aspirant 40–60, Beginner below 40).

Scores on the nine development themes

Poverty-free and enhanced livelihoods76.0

Water-sufficient panchayat49.2
Clean and green panchayat40.1
Self-sufficient infrastructure61.6
Socially just and secured71.6
Good governance70.2
Women-friendly panchayat53.7

Garoli does best on “Poverty-free and enhanced livelihoods” (76.0) and worst on “Clean and green panchayat” (40.1). That 36-point gap shows where the next Gram Panchayat Development Plan could focus. 5 of the nine theme scores are above the Deoli block average. 2023-24ReportedPanchayat Advancement Index (PAI 2.0)
